The Knuckles Mountain Range, named for its peaks’ resemblance to a clenched fist’s knuckles, is one of Sri Lanka’s most extraordinary natural landscapes, a UNESCO World Heritage wilderness of jagged peaks, cloud forests, cascading waterfalls, and highland villages barely touched by modern tourism. Its network of trekking trails winds through ecosystems of exceptional biodiversity, home to endemic birds, leopards, and rare flora found only in these highlands.
